My Birthday Present

My 33rd bday was yesterday. Day went ok, was just a normal day really. Josue went to work. Then he came home and cooked rice, bbq'd pork and bbq beans. Nothing real special but he cooked it after he spent all day in the heat grilling for other people at work. So that's what made it special. We don't exchange gifts because we don't have the money and like he says we would just buy each other things we don't need or want really. So on his bday (he's a twin) I bake a cake for both of them (bil lives here) and cook a nice meal something they both like a lot. And he cooked for me this year. My sister sent me this cute Anne Geddes card and the other sister emailed me and sent me a smileygram (i think that's what it was called) but it had pics of the kids and the 4 of us sisters together it was sweet and brought a smile to my face. My mother called and sent me a card and well i didn't hear from my father. But the kicker is what my best friend did. Let me give you some history here. Hold on it gets confusing.

Lisa and I met at Six Flags the year I was 15. There was a dance club there and we just happened to be dancing in the same group and started talking. We realized we lived just blocks from each other! Which is surprising because we were about 40 minutes from home! lol Well the next day she comes over (after running into a parked car with her bike lol don't know how she did that one) but we became pretty close and went through a lot together. A few years later she met a young man and ran off to work the carnivals with him and some friends. We lost touch and then she moved out of town with a different guy and lived there for about 6 years. In that six years, her mom Maggie and I became very close. I know I held her together for some rough times and she's done the same for me. She's my best friend even though there are many years in between us. She's the only one that truly understands me in ways my family doesn't. That's not a bad thing now sometimes there are things you just don't discuss with your family. Maggie is very sweet and giving. And yesterday she came over with my present. Boy was I surprised. I opened the envelope to find pictures of my baby Lily from the hospital! I was shocked! I didn't expect that at all and of course I started tearing up cause we couldn't afford to buy them and out of all 4 kids hers were the best! She's like did you look in the envelope. Well i did but I didn't notice the other piece in there. It was the locket I had wanted so bad! We were going to buy it and decided to wait and get a gold one with 4 slots so i could put all 4 kids in there. Well she got the one from the hospital with Lily's hospital picture in it for me! Of course I started to cry till i put it on and it fell off! lol the chain is small and the ring where it goes in was open a bit so it came disconnected :( I got it fixed and it's holding. I'm going to take it to Walmart with me and see if they will help me fix it permantely. It won't cost much or if anything cause it doesn't need anything but to be sealed off properly and they can do that there with a lot more expertise than I could. But I was shocked and I can't stop looking at Lily. She's gotten so big and it's not till you look at those newborn pictures and say wow. She's crawling and standing and cruising and wow. Last year at this time i was complaining cause i didn't get any cake or anything. lol I was pregnant still and had gestational diabetes. Can't have cake then! And now she's walking and eating my bday cake! Well here are a couple pics of my present so you all can see what I'm talking about.

Do the schools think you are rich?

Katie has a project due in one month and i'm not a crafty person. Ok, i can psp and i can do things. I'm creative but i'm stupid when it comes to hands on and it always looks like a 2 year old did it. And now Katie has to make a person from missouri with a 2 liter bottle! oh come on. Do they think we are rich. I have a list of supplies i have to get and it's like 30 dollars worth! That would give us over half a tank of gas! Are they crazy? Is everyone there rich? i wrote her a note and asked her for help here. I can't do all that, sure the 2 liter bottle but the rest of it? i wouldn't even know where to get some of the stuff (craft stores probably) and they aren't cheap! our walmart cut their crafting stuff down in half. i'm so aggravated. Wish they'd let her do something on the pc then i could help her lol even if it is mouse draw jesse james! ahhhhhhh

Didn't feel I needed a whole lot of words here. She's something else. She runs around in a diaper for many reasons for 1. it's hot in here. our ac doesn't work for nothing and right now i'm sitting in front of a fan sweating. 2. she can and i can't 3. she's a baby. i knew i'd get someone say where's the kids clothes. Trust me she wears them lol Just thought i'd share some of the newest ones :)

Well, Lily is finally feeling better so much better she's being a little twerp! Bouncing everywhere, talking up a storm and man does that little girl get around! I entered her into a showdown at cafemom and she won :) of course but the other baby was just as cute!

Emelina is doing great at school! Making new friends and doing so well! Her handwriting only a week into school is already better than Hailey's. She's coloring in the lines and just learning up a storm. No worries about her here!

Hailey, well she's more advanced than the other kids but this is her second time in kindergarten. She's doing well though and the teacher said has shown progress since the last day of school so we are hopeful things are going to go well.

Katie, well she's Katie, but so far she's had to tests and got a 95 in one and 100% in the other! So I'm excited it's a good start! She seems happier in school.

I've been working up a storm. Got another kit in the store at Moo Two. Working on another that will be in Moo Two and Memory Junkies :) Got to start advertising them big time. What's going on?

Things have been a little crazy around here. Josue is off and it's just me and him the past 2 days it's been really nice. Lily is here of course but she's not a hassle at all. She's a good baby. She's been sick for the past 24/30 hours. Poor thing had a fever of 101.8 and no poopoos :( But shes' doing much better. Been giving her 2 oz of apple juice a day and tylenol and then switched to infants advil. She's doing great! Fever is gone and well things are moving again! lol She also got the cutest thing today at walgreens. We are broke and i felt bad cause she really liked this so i put the paper towells back for her. She got this little frog that lights up and croaks a few kids songs and she loves it!! She's been playing with it for about 2 hours. I'll have to get it from her later and video tape it so you can see what it is. Who needs paper towells anyway right? lol Kids are doing good in school and it's been quiet and peaceful. Last night we bbq'd and the kids had a ball playing outside. They need this time and no one had homework so no fights! whooo hooooo lol

Emelina's First day of school

Things have been wacky. Lily cried all day looking for them, the buses arrive at the same time, a man hits a telephone pole and we couldn't get home last night and wow. But I had to finish a scrap I was working on and then I got to play for a bit before I get back to work (i've been bad!) This was her getting off the bus. She loved school but a little boy is already picking on her.

St Louis Zoo

We went to the zoo today. We have one of the best zoos in the country and I've been to a few of them. Ours is also FREE!!! Today we took the kids to the zoo and they got their face painted, got to see the dino exhibit and had a ton of fun! Here are some pictures :) You can check out the rest here at my Flickr account.

wow the heat

We are having a really bad heat wave. it's so bad you get out of the shower and automatically feel sticky and nasty. it's bad. lily had to be soaked down and then put in front of a fan for a nap and that doesn't even help. try forcing liquids down a 10 month olds throat. pray thi goes away soon!

Children. They do the funniest things. Lily is getting to big for her britches, Katie well she's a preteen that explains all of it, Emelina is bored and can't wait for school and Hailey, well she hides from my camera and she's just there. Quiet, aloof sometimes and good by herself. This was taken while Katie was holding Lily, Lily and Emelina were sleeping but Katie was awake till she saw the camera and decided to play possum :)

These next few pictures some of them are hilarious. Lily was just going to town and thought it was the funniest thing in the world. It was to dark or i'd have gotten a video clip of it. She was giggling and screeching and just having a good old time. You can tell by her face. I had to get pictures and a couple of them are just priceless!
